Simon Dodd is a name to watch in the world of UK motorsport. Like many, Simon’s racing journey started unconventionally during the Covid lockdown, when the world paused, and he turned to sim racing as a way to pass the time. What began as a hobby quickly transformed into a passion when Simon realized he wasn’t just racing for fun—he was actually pretty fast.

After months of honing his skills in the virtual world, Simon made the bold decision to test his abilities on a real track. He signed up for his ARDS (Association of Racing Drivers Schools) test at none other than the legendary Silverstone Circuit, tackling the full Grand Prix layout. With determination and natural talent, Simon passed on his first attempt, earning his racing license and officially launching his real-world motorsport career.

 Today, Simon is the proud driver of the Doddsport Racing Team, competing in a Formula 27 kit car in the 750 Motor Club Sports Specials Championship. As the sole driver for Doddsport, he brings grit, focus, and passion to every race. His transition from sim racing to real-life motorsport is a testament to his dedication and love for the sport.

 Simon’s journey has been one of persistence and continuous learning, proving that with enough determination, sim racers can bridge the gap to real-world racing. Competing in the highly competitive Sports Specials Championship, Simon continues to push boundaries and improve with each lap, making Doddsport Racing a team to follow closely.
